The period of project is from March 10 to November 30 2017. The competition part will be finished June 2, 2017. The winners will take part in gala concert in November with other finalists of the competition “BIG SKY – 2016-2017”. Also, they will take part in recording an album which will be released and promoted in Europe.
“There are many gifted young people in Russia including distinctive jazz musicians. But, unfortunately, their talents are not the guarantee of their future success. It’s very difficult for jazzmen to promote themselves. We have no jazz producers, managers and agencies interested in arranging jazz concerts in Russia and abroad. Maybe, I’m trying to find the solution of one of the most difficult problems. But I’m sure that the competition which I invent and try to embody will help many jazz musicians to find the way to the world jazz stage.”Alexey KolosovThe chairman of the jury, the founder of the «BIG SKY» international jazz competition
“Maybe, it’s difficult to establish the new format because everything is exists. But the «BIG SKY» is the absolutely new approach. It’s really one of the most productive and perspective projects for today. Such project is necessary for the beginners and the producing community.”Krzysztof KarwaszThe head of the «Soliton» record company, a member of the «BIG SKY» jury in 2016
“I’m glad to take part in this grandiose project. This format is necessary not only in Russia but around the world too. My company will take advantage of these opportunities opened by the «BIG SKY» competition. We will start the cooperation with the participants and the winners. It’s a new perspective for the international jazz cooperation. ”Jan FritzThe head of the «Jazz Media» concern, а member of the «BIG SKY» jury in 2016
